We're Expanding....

We're expanding our little family by two little feet!

2010 has been filled with many new adventures. In January, we bought our first home. Made repairs and remodels with the help of friends and Tim's Dad the month of February. We bid farewell to the downtown high rise life and welcomed the move to suburban socialites in March. We also found out we're filling the bedrooms fast than expected....Baby #2 is due in November!

This week, we are celebrating Aidan's 2nd birthday! It's construction theme...he loves to point out all of the trucks, trains and cranes...thought it was fitting to fill our house with hard hats, inflatable hammers and construction cones. I'll post pictures this weekend.

Hopefully I will find time to maintain the blog with more pictures. My phone rings off the hook weekly begging/bugging for more pictures and postings. The multiple phone calls come from the same person...my Bebe! Aidan's growing so fast, my camera and computer can't keep up. Soon my belly will be growing....don't know if I want to post any of those pictures! ;)

It's SNOWING!!

A few blocks from our house- they have turned downtown Bellevue into "Snow Flake Lane". Each night the drummers march, the carolers sing and it "snows" from the rooftops. It's actually machines blowing bubbles.

We went on Friday to help welcome Santa to town!

Crowds lined the streets and pedestrian bridge to watch the parade.

Mission #1 of Holiday Season:

Find a Christmas tree

We drove around looking at tree farms and trees for sale. Anyone can buy a tree for $60-70!

But it takes an adventurous and daring family to cut their own tree.

You can go to the local ranger station and pay $10 for a permit to cut your own tree.

Here is a list of things the Park Ranger suggests:

Purchase permit.....CHECK!

Go early before substantial snow falls.......SEMI-CHECK (11 AM)

Tree saw/ax.........CHECK!

Food & beverages.............NO.

4 wheel drive/snow chains.............NO and NO.

Shovel..............NO.

*Disclaimer: Most trees are accessible only by narrow, unplowed mountain roads. High-clearance vehicles are often required along with tire chains and a shovel.

When we left our house, the sun was shining and it was 52 degrees. We had jeans and t-shirts on...and a sleeping toddler in the backseat.

As we climbed the mountain for our coveted tree, I watched the temperature drop to 31 degrees.

The further we drove, the lower the temperature and the higher the snow banks.

The road was muddy and narrow. As we met one car, we pulled over to let them pass....and then we were stuck. Trucks and SUV's were coming both directions. We had the entire road blocked.

Two nice men helped us and we continued up the mountain....much to my dismay.

Tim turned to me and said "Are you mad you didn't get a picture of us stuck in the snow?"

I replied, "Nope! It wasn't a completely lost opportunity. I'm pretty sure it's going to happen again."

Tim frowned.

Here are the very nice men who helped us get un-stuck the SECOND time!

I didn't get a picture of the stuck car. I was afraid to completely crush Tim's ego.

One man said to Tim, "You must be stuck pretty good if your 4WD can't get you out of this."

Tim just looked at him and nodded.

We tucked our tails and went home....ten dollars poorer and no tree on the roof of our car.

We boarded the Santa Train in North Bend and rode 3 miles south to Snoqualmie to visit Santa, Mrs. Claus, his elves and see all of his trains. It was huge hit for boys young & old!

Playdates and Cookies

Yesterday we had a play date with our weekly group (12-30month old kids)

This week the kids decorated some cookies!

All in all- it was a fun time and pretty clean. I was shocked!

Aidan frosted and then licked his cookie clean!

After they ate all the sugar they possibly could...we let them lose outside while the weather held up. The sugar rush came to a crashing down about half an hour later.

19 Months Old

He has 10 teeth (the bottom 1 year molars just came in this week)

Loves football and soccer

Loves to pretend to make food in my bowls and wooden spoons. He'll pretend to taste his creations and add more seasoning.

Loves to fly around in his cape (one finger pointed in the air and making "buuzzz" sound while running around)

He just learned to jump- from Dad. I'm waiting for him to start jumping OFF OF THINGS. Thanks, Dad!

When he wakes up from his naps, he likes to jump in his crib, tear off the quit and sheets and throw everything out on the floor until I come in the room. Then he falls on the mattress and pretends to be asleep.

Favorite food: Mama's lasagna, peanut butter and honey fold over, fruit, frozen green beans and milk!

I still remind him to say please "PEEZ"

Aidan very helpful- he loves to throw things in the trashcan. When I say things....I mean EVERYTHING!

Some days when it's rainy and cold- our only big outing is the grocery market. He loves to ride in the buggy, waving at everyone and blowing kisses. One morning, he was high on his parade horse making friends with EVERYONE! All of the workers at different stations stopped what they were doing to talk to him and give him a treat. At the end of our trip, he had received: apple, grapes, chocolate chip cookie, blueberry bagel, balloon and a sticker on his belly.

Stickin' Around Seattle

Looks like we will be sticking around the Seattle area for a while.

Tim's company did not win the bid for the project in Honolulu. They worked very hard for 8 months- and I know it was a huge disappointment for his team.

I believe this is a blessing in disguise and the best is yet to come.

Stay tuned and we will keep you posted throughout our adventures!

Sidenote: COME VISIT US!

We may not have white sandy beaches or hula skirts...but we still have some FUN around here! I promise to serve drinks with umbrellas in them!! ;)

It only took me 18 months, 3 days and 6 hours to BREAK MY BABY!

It was a regular Monday in the Gattie house. Aidan and I were getting into the elevator to go to swim class.

Swim suit...check.

Towel....check.

Goggles....check

The elevator was outfitted with long padded sheets hanging on all 4 walls for tenants moving in. Aidan loves to "hide" behind the pads and jump out to scare me.

Aidan hid behind one pad, tried to jump out and fell. He went face first and then palms down. His right had was closest to the CLOSING elevator door. His pinky and ring finger were caught underneath the closing door. His little fingers were not enough pressure for the elevator to stop. I immediately pressed the button for the next available floor and pulled as hard as I could to rescue him from the closed door.

We sat in the apartment lobby trying to assess the damages. He was screaming and in distress. All I saw was blood, sweat and tears. I wrapped his hand in our swimming towel and went back upstairs. I washed his hand and bandaged with our first aid kit. We got in the car and drove straight to the peditrician's office. I wasn't 100% sure if he would need stitches or a medical professional to clean bandage his hand properly. I had assumed I was an over-reacting first time Mom. Aidan stopped crying after I wrapped it up. We went to the car and I called Tim to tell him where we were going and why.

(I do not remember making that phone call. He says I was calm and collected and didn't sound worried...therefor he wasn't worried!)

The pediatrician sent us to the ER because their office is not equipped with x-rays or enough staff to hold down our big guy to give him stitches.

4 hours later, 4 stitches, 0 broken bones & 1 tired baby and Mama

Cleaned, prepped and ready for stitches...

I had to hunt down the doctor to tell him we were ready for sewing. I was afraid the meds were going to wear off by the time he got there!

After his nap, he begged me to put his shoes on him and he danced around the house with his new bandage!

Aidan is such a CHAMP! He only cried when the accident happened and when the strapped him down to clean and sew. It hasn't bothered him since. I clean and re-wrap the injury at least 4 times a day and we put a sock on top of it to keep him from picking at the bandages.

Out of ALL the daredevil stunts he has pulled in his short time of moving on this earth...falling down and getting his hand stuck in the elevator door track is what did him in! I can't believe it!!!

He will have his stitches removed on Halloween and should be better than new!

I think I have a few grey hairs just from that adventure!

New activities:

More climbing- on taller and less sturdy objects, more dancing, running VERY VERY fast, he wants to WALK every where, he loves to brush his teeth, he likes to wear random pieces of clothing around the house. Example: he made us all wear jackets while we were in our pj's watching football. He likes to wear shoes (his or ours) while walking around the house in his diapers.

Aidan found Nemo!!

Aidan's left thumb was closed in a drawer a couple of weeks ago.

The doctor trimmed the dead nail and bandaged it. His "boxing glove" didn't last long.

We thought it was traumatic at the time...stay tuned for the more daredevil drama....

Week in Review

Last week, we had a visit from Deann & Morgan. They spent their Fall Break on the West Coast enjoying the beauties of Oregon and Washington. It was a nice break from the heat in Georgia!

This past weekend, we went to two farms to check out the hay rides, pumpkins and farm fun! Aidan picked up a new obsession....TRACTORS!

Three years and counting...

Sharing Great News!

Dear family & friends,

I'd like to share with you a trip that Tim is going to take that will hopefully be a life changing experience for the people he comes in contact with, as well as himself.

A few weeks ago, Jason called and said they had lost one of their Mission Team members due to a motorcycle accident. He asked if I knew an engineer who would like to go to Kenya to construct and build a playground for their orphanage. For me, it was a lightbulb moment! With hope in my heart, a silent prayer...Tim and I discussed it.

We decided together, this is the time to take Tim's profession to a new longitude & latitude!

Tim will travel along with Jason, Kristi, Hayden and their Mission Team from Trinity, Texas. It is a week long adventure that will be filled with amazing and wonderful blessings.

I am excited about the opportunities and experiences that lie ahead. I hope you see the value in what they will accomplish. More importantly, we need your support with your thoughts and prayers.

Hi folks!

It's been a couple of weeks since we last posted any news. I'll try my best to catch everyone up with our latest and greatest.

Tim's Work:

Honolulu- Tim has been VERY busy working on the project bid for the light rail in Honolulu. They met the deadline with great success and a sigh of relief. Now it's sit and wait until mid October for the results. We will keep you posted!

Ice Road Truckers- Tim has spent the last 4 days in Alaska. His company is building a bridge for the "ice road truckers". He's coming home tonight and I will be able to post pictures later of Prudhoe Bay, Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Ice road truckers are described as men driving eighteen wheelers who haul equipment and supplies across a temporary road composed of portages and frozen lakes. When the ice over the frozen lakes reaches a thickness considered to be safe, the road is officially opened, and the truckers begin carrying loads across what is considered to be the most dangerous road in the world. There is a documentary on The Discovery Channel called Ice Road Truckers if you want to see what these crazy guys in action!

Travels:

Tennessee- Aidan and I went to Nashville to visit Tim's family. We had a great time catching up with everyone. We watched Tyler at his archery tournament, went out on the boat, drove around on golf carts and toured around Chattanooga. I promise to get some pictures up very soon!

Periodically, I can get Mr. A to sit in his highchair long enough to create a masterpiece. We write about what we did that day, some new things he has learned and experiement with colors and which hand to hold crayons in. He *might* be a LEFTY! (click on the picture to enlarge)

He loves his blocks. He loves destroying any building I create MORE!

After a mid afternoon meltdown, Aidan threw his binky on the ground. I picked it up, put it in my pocket and said "NO MORE". On the drive home, I had an internal debate whether I was going to commit to going binky free. Tim was out of town, Aidan was teething and I was tired! At bedtime, Aidan drank a little more milk than normal, laid down and went to sleep without a peep and without a bink. I thought it may have been a fluke or beginners luck. It has now been 8 days without! YIPPEE!! I do notice that he eats more without the "plug". He ate A LOT to begin with!

You may notice something missing from Aidan's lips. We bid farewell to the pacifier.

It was nice having you around as a mute button, a chew toy during teething, an ear popper on airplanes and soothing to sleep buddy.

We are debuting the Fall kicks in coming weeks.

Random story:

Thursday night, Tim brought home dinner. Aidan ate an entire burger, basket of fries and 1/2 of a vanilla malt. The three of us ran around the house for 45 minutes playing hide and go seek (one of Aidan's favorites...he loves to be scared!).

At bed time, Aidan had TWO bottles of milk. When Tim laid him down in the crib- he EXPLODED. Too much food, too much fun and WAY TOO much milk!! He got ANOTHER bath, more rocking and songs with Mom.

Mom had lots more laundry to do!

Aidan has a new passion....READING! He will grab a book off of the shelf and run to me yelling "REE! REE! REE!" We sit in the rocker and read the book over and over and over. He loves to turn the pages and point out the "Quack Quack" or the balloons. I LOVE that he loves to read. His favorites right now are: Goodnight Moon, I Love You Through and Through and What Floats. He's not patient enough to enjoy the storytime at the library across the street, but I think that day is coming soon!

On our way from the Gasworks Park, we drove by the "Fremont Troll". He has been lurking under the Aurora bridge since the 90's. The head to shoulder sculputre is 18 feet tall.

During our blueberry picking adventures we saw an old barn with an Eddie Bauer logo painted on it.

I don't know the story behind the barn- but it made for some cute pictures!

The Fruits of Our Labor...

August in Washington means.... BERRY PICKING!

The last two weekends, we've had impromtu berry picking adventures.

Last Sunday we were at the Gasworks Park in Seattle and walked around the waters edge to watch the boats and sea planes and found TONS of wild blackberry bushes. It made for a delicious afternoon snack!

Yesterday we drove to Carnation, WA and found a roadside blueberry farm. They provide the bushes & boxes. You pick and pay...$2 for a pound. Most of the bushes had been picked over, but Aidan enjoyed running around the rows and eating all of the berries he could find. Sometimes, he didn't even bother to use his hands to pick them...he would bite them off of the bush with his mouth and keep running.

By the time we made it back to the "weighing station", Aidan had eaten the ENTIRE box of berries. We have the clerk $1.00- we're convinced Aidan ate at least half a pound!

Aidan LOVES his swim classes!

In the last 4 weeks he has learned to kick, splash, float and go under water (with Mom's assistance).

Our instructor's name is Miss Jessica. Our classmates include: James, Massuess and Hailey (15-19 month olds).

Our classes are once a week at an indoor pool near our house. The water is heated to 82 degrees to keep the babies comfortable and at ease with the water. The water wasn't very refreshing last week when our tempatures were in the 100's!

Tim took off of work this morning to come watch us and take some pictures.

It looks like he's just playing with floating balls...when in fact he's building arm strength for paddling!

We dropped Tim off at work and came home. Aidan and I had a snack and he went to sleep for his morning nap. Today was the day the apartment complex was testing our fire alarm system. The bells rang, smoke alarms sang and the fire engines blarred for an HOUR and A HALF! Aidan slept through the entire thing!! You know what that means...I have a headache and well rested baby!!

We're meeting some friends today for a playdate at the Children's Museum. Hopefully post some more pictures then.

Okay, so it's not a guitar...it's a ukulele. It was Tim's souvenir for Aidan after his last trip to Hawaii. Aidan loves to strum and beat on it. (We're still teaching him to be "gentle".)

Seattle Seafair

Last weekend was the 60th Annual Seattle Seafair. The weekend is packed with hydroplane races, milk carton derby, parades, fireworks, music and BLUE ANGELS!

They close down one of the floating bridges just for the airshow. It's a traffic nightmare but a GLORIOUS view for the air show bound pedestrians! It was an awesome and dramatic show. Aidan loved it!

Summer Days

Last week, we had an unusual heat wave. On Wednesday, our thermometer read 109 degrees! By midnight, we were still hovering 94 degrees... EEKK!

One thing about the Pacific Northwest, no one has AIR CONDITIONING! All of the hotels booked up within minutes. We were fortunate to rent a window unit AC from our apartment complex. It kept our bedroom at a chilly 88 degrees all day and night. Aidan and I spent a lot of time in a shaded swimming pool, a cool bathtub, lots of popsicles and naps in the cool bedroom. We are thankful the heatwave is gone and we are now back to the cooler sunny days and chilly nights.

Here are a few pictures of Aidan's pal, Tristan. He will be 2 in November. The boys are always so sweet together. Tristan plays on a soccer team at the park by our house. We just adore his parents, Richard & Lauren!

We went to Tristan's game on Saturday and cheered from the sidelines. Aidan is a very interactive cheerleader- he hopped the fence snd ran along side all of the kids during the soccer practice! Aidan is the same size as the rest of the kids and running around like he knew what he was doing. None of the coaches or parents even noticed the party crasher! Guess we will have to sign him up next season!

NOTE: Unfortunately, I did not have my camera on hand. You will have to use you imagination for this one.
On Friday, it was a sunny and unusually warm day in the mid 80's. We went to the local park to run around, jump, play and feed the ducks. Aidan is sitting in his stroller and we are both throwing crackers to the ducks in the pond.
Out of no where, I hear "Quack! Quack! Juice! Juice!" Proceeded by a shrieking sound and a SPLASH. Apparently, Aidan thought the ducks were thirsty. He called their names, hurled is juice bottle into the pond and hit a duck. I look down and see a cross eyed duck and bright orange bottle floating away. I froze, looked at Aidan and put my hands up in the air. Aidan responded with a very deliberate "UH-OH".
Several things are racing through my mind at this point. A few of them being "Did anyone see this?""Will we get in trouble if Donald Duck dies?""Can I leave without anyone noticing that I am littering a public park?"
A man walks up to me and asked if I needed assistance. I looked at him helplessly and replied with "Maybe. Yes. Definitely."
The man had his own son (about 5 months old) in a carrier strapped to his chest. He sticks his foot in to the pond, trying to kick the bottle towards me. He slipped and almost fell in, BABY and ALL! Luckily, he caught his footing and I snagged the bottle. I thanked the man, grabbed Aidan and scurried away.
At this point, I was thankful that Aidan didn't think the ducks were lonely and decided to jump in the pond and show them his new dog paddle he learned at swim lessons earlier in the week!

A few minutes later, we are at the playground and Aidan is running around, following some older kids and trying to mimic everything they are doing. A few of the boys were having a "sword" fight with some sticks. Out of excitement, Aidan grabbed a handful of dirt, grass and wood chips and threw it at the boys. As a result, everyone got a little bit dirty but no injuries. A few of the Moms stood on the sidelines and glared at me. I waved and told them I was just his babysitter!!!They seemed to immediately change their attitude and were a little more forgiving!
I can get away with the "babysitter" card- Aidan looks NOTHING like me. It worked that time. I may have to keep using that when he's acting up in public! This story was the inspiration behind the "Not My Child Monday". I hope to have a story similar to this to share each Monday. So stay tuned and keep checking back with us and our ADVENTURES!

Because of things like today, I have stored a pen and notebook in my diaper bag, stroller and car. I know events like this (and worse) are in my future...I want to write them down, cherish them and laugh at them later. Hopefully, I will get better about picking up the camera to document the event, instead of caring if anyone is looking!

Tim has been away all week for work. He gets home late tomorrow night. Hopefully, while he and Aidan are catching up on their "boy time", I can post some pictures.

The New Adventures of Old Aidan (14 months)

Each day is a new thrill seeking adventure for this toddler & Mom duo. It's also a great opportunity for Mom to get grey hairs, experience heart failure and keep the pediatrician on speed dial!

Just a few weeks ago, Aidan was barely walking. Today he's RUNNING and CLIMBING! Lord help me!

There were MANY more thrill seeking moments that did not get captured. I grabbed the baby instead of the camera! HA! Sometimes my "Mom priorities" do kick in!

He's good at getting on top of things. Getting down is still the biggest challenge.

Once on top of his conquered object (albeit the step stool, mixing bowl, stack of books) he will freeze, squeal and then proceed to SWEAT! His forehead will start to drip beads and the palms of his hands spray perspiration!

With all of the new adventures, there are bound to be some accidents...and BOY WERE THERE!

There were THREE big ones in one day.

I was convinced (for a mili-second) he broke his nose, lost his two front teeth and had a concussion.

He's perfectly fine. You would've never known that he had any accidents by the way he's running around and getting into trouble today!

Please note the forehead bump/scrape, cut on the bridge of his nose and fat top lip.

Did I mention that he likes to open the front door and run down the hall way of our apartment complex....NAKED?! Yup! He's got that trick down to an art!

Top 10 Memories of Tabasco

1. On a roadtrip to Texas, we snuck him into a "NOT" pet friendly hotel in Tuscon, AZ. He threw up on the bed in the middle of the night. Thankfully, there was a second bed and we all climbed in. Before we vacated, we left a note for the cleaning service saying "Sorry! Our son got sick in the night" and left $20.

2. We made a short stop by the historical Alamo in San Antonio. Ann was 5 months pregnant and wanted to get a picture of her and Tabasco infront of the monument. The picture is kind of blurry...as Tim snapped the photo, a security guard was yelling at Ann and Tabasco- NO DOGS ALLOWED! Ooops!

3. Tabasco had very strong opinions. He did not like homeless people or ugly dogs. He seldomly barked- but always barked or growled at bums & poodles.

4. He was very sensitive. Okay, so we all know he had sensitive, itchy skin. But he was also very in tune with his surroundings. Anytime Ann would cry at a movie (a frequent occurance), he would jump on her lap. Or if Tim was out of town, he would never leave her side until he got home.

5. We could always get him to sing when we would say "PEEK-A-BOO" very loud and drawn out. He also howled every time Ann would sing. Ann thought he was "singing along".

6. At Christmas time, he loved to sleep under the decorated tree. I think he enjoyed dozing off to the soft glare of the white lights.

7. He loved Aidan with all of his heart. He would nap next to him, let him pull his tail, chase him around the house and "kiss" him. Tabasco was always gentle and kind. Never jealous of the attention Aidan stole from him.

8. Oh the places he would go...He loved car rides! He went up & down California's scenic coast- stopping in Hollywood, Pebble Beach Golf Course and San Francisco. He adventured out East to

Tuscon, Sedona, San Antonio, Dallas, Houston. He even enjoyed a T-Bone in Amarillo!

On our weekend trip to Hollywood, he used the patio of our 5 star hotel as his bathroom and the fruit bowl as his personal dish.

9. In many ways he did not act like a "spaniel". Birds never caught his attention and he hated the water. We couldn't get him to play fetch or gnaw on a toy to save our lives. The only things he was interested in were eating and the beach. Tabasco would chase Tim up and down the shoreline ALL DAY LONG. It was a good workout for them both.

10. He was always the last to leave a party. We had friends over one night for dinner. After we walked everyone out and said our goodbyes, we came back in the house caught him up ontop of the dining table eating leftovers.

Tabasco was only in our home for 2 1/2 years but has left a pawprint on our hearts forever. It's a gift that we were lucky enough to have such an amazing relationship with an animal that will stay with us for a lifetime.

In 1998, we had one school campus for Pre-K through 12- there were 600 students including faculty...I graduated with 32 people in my class!

This Southern California boy got a crash course in snow this morning. Overnight it snowed a few inches. We had a good time making a snowman on the patio. His father, a self proclaimed king of snow people building, is excited to teach Aidan the the proper techniques he learned while growing up in Buffalo. Marrying a Yankee has it's benefits!

Sunny Days Ahead...

The weather has been BEAUTIFUL lately! The sun is shining and the temperatures are rising. Aidan and I have been enjoying long walks around Bellevue. We've made a few friends along the way. I'll start posting more things about our new home- some the attractions and stories.

Monday night, while Tim was packing his bags, Aidan decided he was going to go to Hawaii, too! Tim left on Tuesday for his meeting in Hawaii. Unfortunately, he was so busy with work, he didn't get to enjoy any of the warm weather or sand in his toes.

Today we made a birthday cake for Tim. His favorite is carrot cake. It's his birthday, so I will oblige. But any other day, I will firmly argue that vegetables should NOT be mixed with deserts! It's just WRONG! Is there anyone out there that agrees with me?! Aidan was a big help in the kitchen...he kept me in stitches playing with the pans.

After our birthday cake was complete, we played in the sun. We like to get our sunshine and vitamin D whenever we can! Our living area is floor to ceiling windows. Aidan enjoys getting his paw prints all over the clean windows!

Aidan always has an audience when he eats. Sometimes Dad is around. Mom is usually around (with camera in hand)...but there is one member of the family who is ALWAYS near by whenever Aidan is in his highchair. I'll give you one guess on who that someone special is...

Weekly picnics with Mom. The downtown Bellevue park has a walking trail, playground, lots of dogs and birds. Aidan's favorite lunch spot!

What a romantic!! The walking trail is surrounded with park benches just like this one. On Friday, Aidan and I went to "our bench" (the most westward facing one) to find a pink rose. It wasn't for us, but we enjoyed the romantic gesture.

Have I mentioned that Aidan LOVES construction. He will watch the workers all day long if I let him!

Today Aidan had his 9 month check up. He's 29 1/2 inches tall and 20 lbs. We couldn't believe how big he's gotten...and how fast he's grown! Seems like just yesterday....

This may be our last post for a while. We hit the road next week to drive North to our new home. We will be sad to leave San Diego- but we are looking forward to some fun adventures in Seattle.

Aidan isn't necessarily "crawling" but he can do some pretty fast scooting! He loves to chase after Tabasco's tail and follow me around the house.

I need to download the pictures from Christmas...it's on my list to do this week!

The weatherman just reported a cold Christmas for most of the US. Thought we would send some warm wishes your way. I love cold weather- it gives you just another reason to snuggle up with your loved ones!

Santa Came EARLY This Year!

This Blogging Mama is going to have some awesome photos on the web! We got a new (read: totally awesome, fast and powerful) camera for Christmas. I was a GOOD girl this year!

Please note- I don't ALWAYS look this gross. It was at the end of a long day of cooking, wrapping and cleaning! Note to Santa- next year, Mommmy needs a BATH! :)

This is what 6 hours of family time in the kitchen about 5 pounds of cookie dough will get you....
This picture doesn't do it justice....there's about 30 dozen cookies (minus a few that Tim and Tabasco ate). The mess in my kitchen didn't make it into the frame...hopefully Santa will bring me a housekeeper this year!

Aidan napped and Dad watched football in between batches. Too bad he doesn't know how to wash dishes yet! Maybe next year!

We went to Santa's workshop today. You decide if Santa will visit our house this year!

It only took a moment for our sweet, darling, charming little Aidan turned into this....

Big Adventures with Aidan

Aidan has some new tricks up his sleeve...errr...he's not wearing any sleeves. Oh well... We were in his room getting ready for the day. I put him in his crib to get some clothes for him. When I turned around see what this little rascal was doing!

Step 1: Sit there and look cute

Step 2: Coo and make Mom's heart melt. (waiting for her to turn around)

Step 3: TA-DA! Scream in delight!

Step 4: Ponder what just happened. Calculate what the heck is going to happen next.

Step 5: Continue to be adorable and be thankful Mom had her camera handy!

That was a BIG adventure. He wore himself out and is napping now!

It's Beginning to Look...

A lot like Christmas around here. Although it doesn't "feel" like it. Yesterday was 80 degrees and a PERFECT beach day. Keep an eye out for beach pictures to be posted later.

He's still loving his new "toy".

We had to improvise because we don't have a fireplace and mantel.

I think he likes his stocking- even though it's empty!!

We stood in line to see Santa.

We had a delivery today and I left the box on the floor for Aidan to play with. In the pictures below, I think it is just a small preview to what Christmas morning will be like for us!

First Family 5k

After our family 5k race, we blew up the air mattress and watched football ALL DAY long! It was just what the doctor ordered.

Tabasco is starting to tolerate Aidan and his snuggly nature a little more these days. I think he's just grateful to get ANY attention!

Finish line! YIPPEE!! Tim ran and I walked with the stroller. Aidan slept the ENTIRE time until we crossed the finish line- then he woke up stretching.

Newest trick: He can wave! It's his favorite thing to do lately. He must think everyday is parade- because he just won't stop waving!

Meet Hoover, err....I mean to Tabasco. He deligently watches for any missed Cheerio and jumps on it before Aidan has a second chance with it.

Aidan watched his first Buffalo Bills game with Dad. Tim is convinced it's Aidan's fault that they lost on Monday night- Aidan went to bed at halftime.
